What is a Wax Pack?

This pack contains the materials required to capture an impression in wax and the postal elements needed to safely return those impressions back to our studio.

One wax pack is equal to one submission. For example - If you want to make an impression pendant for both your child and your dog, you'd purchase two wax packs and complete two separate submissions.

Enclosed, you'll find 4 pre-weighed heirloom wax balls, 2 screw-top tins, a clear template and a pre-paid mailing bag.

Step by step instructions can be accesses by scanning the QR code inside the wax pack.

How Long Does It Take?

We expect the waxes returned inside the pre-paid mailing bags to arrive back with us within 10 working days. We'll email you when these arrive.

Once processed and with our casting team, we'd give the workshop 6-8 weeks to work their magic. There are many skilled steps involved, so we make sure we give this process the time it deserves.

What Does This Price Include?

The £5 wax pack cost covers the wax impression pack only - not the Silver or Gold casting.

The casting cost (plus optional personalisation options) is paid online at the submission stage, before you post your wax back to us.

The £5 wax pack cost is deducted in full.

Choosing The Right Wax Size

The truth is, there is no right answer. The wax size relates to the eventual charm or pendant size, once cast in solid Gold or Silver.

The eventual pendant sizes would measure (approx) as below:

Size Small = 10mm Wide

Size Medium = 14mm Wide

Size Large = 17mm Wide

For newborn impressions, we'd recommend size Small, as the pendant size is generally most proportionate to the impression size.

Our process

  1. Step 1

    Purchase Wax Pack

A wax pack contains the materials required to capture an impression in wax and the postal elements needed to safely return those impressions back to our studio.

    Enclosed, you'll find 3 pre-weighed heirloom wax balls, 2 screw-top tins, a clear template and a pre-paid mailing bag.

Step by step instructions can be accesses by scanning the QR code inside the wax pack.

  2. Step 2

    - Select Chain Style (neck and wrist options)

    - Add Adornments (choose to add engraving or a letter charm)

Once complete, you're then ready to send the waxes in the post.

  4. Step 4

    Return In The Post

Pop the wax impressions inside the tins, add water, screw tight and seal inside the pre-paid mailing bag. The mailing bag can then go straight inside any UK postbox, destination, Cahve Studio 🎁

We'll be in touch when we receive the waxes (this can take up to 10 working days). We'll get everything processed and into production as quickly as possible.

Made In England

Every step of our production journey is based in England. From when your wax is processed by our passionate team in Sheffield, to being fired up in the kiln by our dedicated workshop in Birmingham, your precious jewellery is always in our hands.

Our workshop is located in Birmingham's iconic jewellery quarter - Impressions are lovingly cast in solid recycled Gold and Silver, expertly hand-polished and returned, ready to wear within 6-8 weeks ✨

Your questions, answered

Can I cast in solid gold or platinum?

Yes — 9ct to 18ct yellow, white and rose gold, and platinum. Upgrades are paid when you return your wax, at current market rates, and quoted once we've weighed your impression.

How long does it take?

Usually 6–8 weeks from the day your wax reaches the workshop. Lost-wax casting is hands-on across several stages; once your piece is prepped we email a firmer completion date.

What is the wax ball for?

It is the pendant. You aren't taking a mould — the wax you shape is cast directly into precious metal, identical in size and shape. Don't combine wax balls; each is pre-weighed to its casting type.

Can I make a double-sided impression?

Yes, and they look beautiful. Press both sides at once, gently — a child's print on the front and a parent's on the reverse is a favourite here. A large wax gives you the most room.

Is it safe for newborns?

The wax is independently tested, non-hazardous and non-toxic. Babies under nine months don't have defined ridges yet, but a tiny toe or squidge captures just as tenderly. Supervise young children and don't ingest it.

I want more than one impression

One pack captures one impression, so add a pack per piece. Already cast? We can take a silicone mould of your finished pendant and duplicate it whenever you like.
